Abstract

The concept of empowering leadership within project management has garnered significant attention in recent years. This study explores the dynamics of empowering leadership and its impact on fostering a culture of ownership within project teams. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical analysis, this research identifies key components of empowering leadership, including delegation of authority, support for autonomy, and encouragement of participation. Moreover, it investigates how these leadership behaviors influence team members' sense of ownership, commitment, and accountability towards project goals. Findings suggest that empowering leadership practices significantly contribute to the development of a culture where team members proactively engage in decision-making processes, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate higher levels of motivation and responsibility. Furthermore, this study highlights the role of organizational culture and contextual factors in shaping the effectiveness of empowering leadership approaches. The implications of these findings for project management theory and practice are discussed, emphasizing the importance of cultivating empowering leadership behaviors to foster a culture of ownership and enhance project outcomes.
