Article Retraction Policy

The Pakistan Journal of Linguistics (PJL) upholds the integrity of the academic record and follows best practices in scholarly publishing. Articles may be retracted, corrected, or removed in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

An article may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence of plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data.

  • The article constitutes redundant publication or has been previously published elsewhere without proper citation or authorization.

  • There are serious ethical violations or legal issues that invalidate the findings.

  • The findings have been rendered unreliable due to honest error or misconduct.

When a retraction is issued:

  • A Retraction Notice will be published in the subsequent issue of the journal and linked to the original article.

  • The original article will remain available online but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to maintain the scholarly record.

  • The reasons for retraction will be stated to ensure transparency.
